Most limestone is gray in color, but all colors of limestone from white to black are found. Limestone is used as an industrial raw material along with other industrial raw material products such as silica flour, aggregates, quicklime, talc, volcanic rocks, abrasives, and calcium carbonate. Limestone has many uses: as a building material, a basic component of concrete (Portland cement), as an aggregate for road foundations, as a white pigment or filler in products such as toothpaste or paints, and as a chemical raw material for lime production. It is also used as a soil conditioner, or as a popular decorative addition to rock gardens.
